Growing up in the late 60’s the Chrysler muscle cars had a great influence in helping to determine my career path.  Working in the neighborhood service station only fueled my interest in learning all I could about cars.  I quickly realized that the Chrysler cars were the most unique, powerful and stylish.

After graduating a two year auto mechanics program at Anoka Technical College in 1975, I started fixing cars in my home garage and officially started Lofgren Auto Specialties in 1982.  I have personally owned and raced numerous Chrysler cars since my first car, a 1964 Dodge Polara which I acquired in 1969.  My current race car, a 1970 Plymouth Cuda is also used for research and development from which new ideas and parts are tested.  I have raced the car in the NHRA B and C stock classes with a 440 six pack engine between 1975-1983.

Currently, the Cuda has a 500 cubic inch wedge that I race in Real Street and Muscle Street eliminators.  The Cuda runs in the 9’s with stock suspension and DOT tires.  We run in various events around the Midwest including the Mopar Nationals and Monster Mopar weekend.

In 2005, we competed in and won the “Royal Purple Mopar Muscle Magazine Hemi Dyno Challenge” using the same engine building techniques we use on every engine we build.  We strive at Lofgren Auto Specialties to provide the customer with the biggest bang for the buck.

Lofgren Auto Specialties builds numerous specialty engines combinations along with customizing transmissions, torque converters and rear axle assemblies built to suit your needs.  We utilize stand alone, 3 axis, 4 axis and 5 axis CNC equipment to machine your block and heads.  While providing our customers with the complete car package, engine, automatic and manual transmission, flywheels & clutches, torque converters, drive shafts, rear axles, rear suspension, shocks and springs, front end rebuilds and alignments, ignitions systems, fuel systems, tune-up and carburation and full installation and fabrication services including headers, frame ties, roll bars and cages.
